These students will perform with 100 other students around the state on February 2 and 3 in Concert at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School. Congratulations!!! 4th Quarter Band and Piano Lessons SchedulesAll lesson schedules have been updated. Please check your times. The 24th lesson for band is a free scheduled lesson and must be scheduled with Mr. Christian before the last day of school. Grade Sheets have been distributed to band students. Ask your child for their 4th Quarter requirements or email me to send you a sheet. Concerts w/Emory University and Multicultural Fair Congrats on the our two concerts this quarter. Members of the Emory University Wind Ensemble and their conductor, Dr. Scott Stewart was amazed at your progress and excited about the possible performance next year. I have also received great comments on the band's perfromance for the multicultural fair. Tri - M National Honor Society Inductees Congratulations to following students who were accepted to the Tri-M National Music Honor Society: Marissa A. Brian F. Billy M. Jeremy C. Nick M. Kodi S. Their induction will take place on January 29th at 7:00 PM with a Potluck befor at 5:30 PM with the Conyers Middle School Tri-M Chapter. Tri-M Music National Honor Society at HRCS is sponsoerd by the Knights of Columbus Chapter of St. Brigid Catholic Church in Alpharetta. These students will perform with 100 other students around the state on February 2 and 3 in Concert at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School. Congratulations!!! Band Parent Meeting The next band parent meeting will be held on Monday January 14 at 6:30 PM in the Music Room. All parents are invited to attend. The meeting will be about 35 minutes in length and will have a forum to update parents on volunteer activities, upcoming festivals and other business. Jordan and Golemo selected as First Composers-in-Residence Dr. Jeff Jordan, Director of Bands at Fort Hays State University and Dr. Michael Golemo, Director of Bands at Iowa State University have been selected to compose Holy Redeemer Catholic School's first commissions. As a composer-in-residence, these gentleman will work with the band and will talk with students about the value of music composition and assist them in the process of composing their own works. We look forward to Dr. Jordan's visit in March of 2008 and Dr. Golemo's visit in May 2008. |
